A Little Photoshoot

So yesterday a friend of mine came to my house to take pictures of the twins. It was a lot of fun and Kaylie and Cavan were great little models... well once they had their bottles. I have only seen a little preview of the pictures, but can honestly say they are amazing. Here are a couple for you to see.
She really got them to do so much and I couldn't be happier with how they turned out. If anyone is looking to hire a photographer, I really recommend her. I will get her website and more info soon and post!

Time to tend to a hungry baby!

1 Week Old

Kaylie and Cavan are one week old today. We are all still getting to know each other and enjoying every minute (even the late night feedings). We have had amazing help from family and friends. Our dogs, Jameson and Dolce, came home today and are really adjusting well to the new family members. Dolce loves giving kisses and Jameson has even come to say hello a couple times.

Cavan is protesting peeing in his diapers at the moment. He pees while they are on, it just manages to miss his diaper and end up on his side instead. We call him our little man, because he looks like a little man. He has such a funny personality. He gives little googley eyes and and loves to smile. We did get good news from the pediatrician, his Billyrubin levels are perfect and his jaundice is gone!

Kaylie is our little serious girl. She has this little face she makes that tells you she means business! She will sneak in a smile from time to time too. She is also our little chow hound. She eats so well so hopefully we can get her weight up. She had lost a bit more than 10% at the hospital so we were working on getting it back up.

I am doing well with my recovery. I am still a bit sore, but definitely not as bad as I had thought I would be. Thankfully I have had a lot of help especially from my mom who has been staying with us and really doing more than we could ever ask for. We have been so appreciative of her. I apologize if I don't get back to anyone right away and if I can't update the blog all that often. Hopefully when we all adjust we will be a bit more social.

36 Weeks... And They're Here!

Kaylie and Cavan have made their finest debut! They were born Sunday March 7, 2010 via a c-section, Cavan at 9:53am coming in at 5Lbs 10oz, 18in long and Kaylie at 9:56am coming in at 6Lbs 6oz 18.5in long. They are absolute perfection in my eyes. I had said all along that I wanted to make it to at least 36 weeks with the twins, and I made it to just that! So without further ado, I present to you the greatest gift I've ever received: Kaylie Shea (left) and Cavan Michael (right)
We are all doing great and are still at the hospital until Thursday. Hopefully once I get home I will be able to write up a bit more on their arrival. In the meantime, I'll leave you with a picture of my life, my world, my everything.

I'm Ready...

And I blame my midwife for that. Once she gave the go ahead that these babies could come any day now, I have not wanted them to come more! I have been really good at trying not to complain during this pregnancy, but I am reaching my breaking point. My main minor complaint is comfort, or lack there of. No matter what I do, I cannot get comfortable. Sleeping, virtually impossible. I sleep out on the couch because the bed doesn't cut it. Then when I'm on the couch, I start out laying down, then get heartburn, a hip cramp, and my hands fall asleep. I then move to the chaise which lasts maybe about an hour or so. Then back to the couch recliner. It's a vicious cycle throughout the night, with pee intermissions in between.

I don't want people to think I am not greatful to have made it as far as I have, but let me tell you, I'm just not sure how much longer I can make it. I know the longer they are in there, the better it is for them, so I would never wish for them to come out before they are ready. All I'm saying is if they did decide to come out now, I would not be opposed to the idea. Ok Twinsies, I would NOT be opposed!

11th Appointment and 48 Weeks??

I had my 11th Appointment yesterday and all systems are a go! Babies are doing great. They are both laying transverse (sideways, head to head) so a c-section will be the way they will come, but I am ok with that that. I had been preparing myself for that anyways and will have a lot of family help once the twins arrive. They also have said that if I go into labor at any point here on out they won't stop it and the babies will come! OH MY GOSH, I am going to be a Mommy any day now!

Oh and the reference to 48 weeks you ask? Oh that would be what my belly is measuring right now! So as you can imagine, mobility is becoming more of a struggle these days. But I am just taking it one day at a time and know it will all be worth it in the end...which is SO close!!!

Oh and don't forget to put your guesses in on the expectnet page I set up! Time is ticking! Just click below and enter your guesses for both babies!
